When you file a car insurance claim, a claims representative will take you through an easy, step-by-step process until your claim is completed. If your vehicle needs repairs, you’ll be able to depend on our Rely Network® repair shops to deliver quality work, guaranteed.**
Here’s how the claim process works when something happens to your vehicle. Remember, each incident is unique and your claim may be different according to your specific situation and coverage.
For windshield and window repair
- Open a claim
- Your car goes in for repairs
- You pay your deductible at the repair shop (if applicable)
- We issue payment to the repair shop
- Your claim is closed
For collision repair
- Open a claim and gather information about the accident
- An estimate is done for the work needed on your vehicle
- The facts surrounding the accident is analysed to establish liability
- Your car goes in for repairs (you may be provided with a rental car)
- You pay your deductible at the repair shop (if applicable)
- We issue payment to you (if the repair shop is part of the Rely Network, we pay them directly)
- Your claim is closed
For theft or fire
- Open a claim
- You may be provided with a rental car
- Information is gathered about the incident
- Your claim is assessed for payment***
- We issue payment to you (or, if the repair shop is part of the Rely Network, we pay them directly)
- Your claim is closed
For all other claims (e.g. vandalism, water damage, hail, collision with an animal)
- Open a claim and gather information about the accident
- An estimate is done for the work needed on your vehicle
- Your car goes in for repairs (you may be provided with a rental car)
- You pay your deductible at the repair shop (if applicable)
- We issue payment to you (if the repair shop is part of the Rely Network, we pay them directly)

For theft
- Open a claim
- Information is gathered about the incident
- Your claim is assessed for payment
- We issue payment to you and/or replace the stolen items
- Your claim is closed
For a major loss (e.g. due to water damage)
- Open a claim
- If needed, we will help you temporarily relocate
- Meet with a claims adjuster
- Assessment and estimation of damage
- We issue payment to you, replace lost items or have your home repaired
- You return home
- Your claim is closed
For a minor loss (e.g. due to sewer backup water damage, vandalism, hail or wind)
- Open a claim
- Assessment and estimation of damage
- If repairs are needed, you choose a supplier
- We issue payment to you, replace lost items or help you repair your home
- Your claim is closed
