If my vehicle is a total loss, who does my insurance company pay?

It depends. If a claim settlement gets the green light, the payment can could either to you (if you own the vehicle), or to the leasing company (if your vehicle is leased), or jointly to you and to the finance company (if your vehicle is financed).
