Roadside assistance: a few facts, figures and tips

Belairdirect roadside assistance: a few numbers

In 2018, tows accounted for 48% of roadside assistance requests, followed by battery boosting (25%). It is estimated that each winter day (December to March), several thousand vehicles require boosting in Canada. The colder season is hard on our cars!

But roughly 20 per cent of battery boosts are requested outside the peak period, between April and November. Remember that time you were distracted and left your headlights on in broad daylight? Well you weren’t alone!

The reason for other calls received by our roadside assistance service? 10% of users needed a tire change, 11% unlocking doors, 4% a winching and 2% a gas or air delivery.
