Dear Friends and Neighbours of Newfoundland & Labrador,
Together, we can help better. Today, we are honoured to announce that with our commitment to the people we serve and the communities we call home, we have formalized two new partnerships with the Association for New Canadians and the Community Food Sharing Association. Both organizations uniquely contribute to different needs within the province, supporting individuals and families in Newfoundland and Labrador.
This past summer, we announced the exciting rebranding of Johnson Insurance and Anthony Insurance to belairdirect and proudly launched belairdirect for customers in Newfoundland and Labrador and Atlantic Canada last fall. The response from our customers and community has been incredibly positive. It is important that we continue to deliver on our shared purpose of helping customers, employees and the communities we call home.
We are pleased to share details on these partnerships that exemplify Newfoundland and Labrador’s neighbourly spirit of generosity and belairdirect’s core value of helping you take care of the things that matter most.
Association for New Canadians
We will contribute $150,000 over the next three years to the Association for New Canadians in support of its Coding for Success program, providing education, career opportunities and post-secondary pathways for new Canadians in the rapidly expanding technology sector. Designed for youth who are new to Canada, Coding for Success provides hands-on learning on computer-based coding and programming.
Community Food Sharing Association
Committing $150,000 to the Community Food Sharing Association (CFSA) will help many families faced with increasing food insecurity. A portion of this donation helped fund the CFSA’s holiday hamper program at the end of 2023 – distributing a hamper full of food to over 300 families across our province. Our ongoing financial support over the next two years will enable the CFSA’s food distribution program to source, purchase and distribute over $1 million worth of food to 60 food banks throughout the province.
While we are very proud to introduce these two new partnerships, we’re also pleased to share that we have renewed belairdirect’s signature partnership with Breakfast Club of Canada, building on the successful collaboration that began in 2018 to give an equal chance of success to school-aged children nationwide. With one in three children at risk of going to school hungry, we are reaffirming our commitment to this national partnership that allows us to support the health and well-being of children in our community and beyond, ensuring they start their day with a nutritious breakfast. This partnership will also continue to support a local breakfast program in St. John’s that belairdirect helped established many years ago.
Together, we will continue to build on the proud legacy of Johnson Insurance and Anthony Insurance, remaining the insurance partner you can trust for generations to come.
Thank you for your ongoing support.
Warm regards,
John Thompson
